Open Letter to Petronas

Dear Petronas,

Being a Malaysian, I always support Malaysia Products. Ok, I do not always buy Malaysia products but I support them. And one of the things I support and buy is your petrol. On top of being supportive, its so happen your petrol stations are everywhere, making it accessible for people who need petrol. And it is accessible to me too because you are so near to my house. Talk about being convenient.

But being accessible is not enough. You need to be helpful and convenient as well. In many terms, indeed. And one of many common ways is to make sure that your self-pay credit card machines works EVERY TIME! I forgive you if it happens once in a while BUT its so damn frustrating to see it happen almost every time I come to you. Out of 10 visits, 8 is, SYSTEM IS OFFLINE. Is that really your tag line?

Do you know people are such in a hurry in the morning, getting themselves to the office on time. And in between, they need to get some petrol so that their cars are running properly? So making sure everything run smoothly at your stations are crucial.

This morning, like any other mornings, I went to your station to fuel up my car. And to my dismay, its OFFLINE again and I have to walk in my 4" heels to your counter to pay. Fine. I ask the cashier whether I can pay by card and she said yes. Ok, settle. No? Its not over yet you know. The lady swiped my card, and after a while, she asked me to go fuel up the tank first and come back to sign and get my card back. I questioned her and she answered, because its OFFLINE, I need to fuel up first and come back to sign and get the card. You can imagine how mad I am already so I offered to pay cash instead. Remember about being convenient? Paying by credit card means convenient to people. But this time, you are making hassle of it. Ohhh, guess what? She said I cannot pay by cash because she already swiped my card. Hesitantly I go back to my car and fuel up and came back to the counter to sign and get my card.

You know what, being a multi-billions company, you can't afford a few RMs to your stations to get some pens. I have to wait for sometime for the lady to get a pen in the office. HELLO!!! Pen is like a necessity ok. Arghhhh! I feel like giving a word to the lady but come to think of it, she is just merely a cashier working there. Some words should be given to the owner of the station, and you too Petronas.

So please, upgrade your system and scrape off that OFFLINE tag line you have for ages and start making other. Ohh, I am not the only one who experience this OFFLINE thingy. Many others out there did too. Either you start improving or we start changing. Your call!

aku ada satu cadangan. apakata ko letak spare flat sandal dlm keta supaya senang berlari?

aku sekarang ni tengah bengang dgn 7-eleven. aku mintak prepaid maxis rm30 takde (offline) tapi bila mintak prepaid maxis rm60 buleh pulak. pastu aku beli satu magazine - tapi dia cakap takleh scan barcode, jadi dia takleh jual - apakahhhhhhh!

aku kadang2 lagi suka pi kat tempat yg tak berteknologi - cthnya macam gerai akak balakong tu - dia kira nasik aku sebagai "nasik suku" (aku biasa dengar nasik separuh je) - kira pakai kalkulator cabuk - tapi bila total rm5.10 dia terus cakap - rm5 je dah. aku untung 10 sen, dan dia untung takyah pulangkan duit syiling 90 sen.

kan convenience tu? :P

aku pun ada isu gak, ini lepas FIL aku duk perli2 sebab kami isi kat SHELL takmau support Melayu dan Petronas. Camana nak isi kat Petronas, Petronas depan rumah aku yang sekangkang kera tu duk dalam area pesat banyak kereta, laluan utama ke Ikea/theCurve, bapa besar kau Petronas tu, ada banyak pump, tapi satu pun takde pump utk RON97.

Habis semua kereta besar takpun kereta kecik yang pakai RON97 lari SHELL sebelah dia nak isi RON97. logik kan aku isi SHELL =)

i think ur open letter well deserve to be addressed to the owner of that petrol station and cc-ed to petronas dagangan berhad...maintenance issue of each petrol pump is to be handled by the owner...supply mmg dari petronas...
i guess in this case, the owner malas nak fix the thing...ignorance kot ;p

sekian dari pekerja pett yg tgh unpaid leave..muahahhahahahhaha

Jua: itu pasal jugak laki aku pakai shell! gigih pusing jauh sket pun takpe sbb dia kata shell xde masalah. cepat pun cepat.

LV: hahahaha!! i know u will bersuara. i know mmg owner patut jaga maintenace tu tp byk sgt station ada same problem mcm tu. pett je, lain2 xdak. hehehehe. nasib u tgh unpaid leave, if not I cari u je terus. hehehehe

Aizura: kannnnnnnnnnnnn!!!! byk kali jugak they blame the bank. hubby I cakap kdg2 diorang sengaja offline kan so that ppl pay cash. klau guna cc kan diorang kena byr service charge.

Hi first time letak comm wlpun selalu baca :))

I think Petronas tgh tukar vendor outdoor payment dia sebab masa weols (bank) buat testing pun ade problem switching from one vendor to another. my guess it while the transition is in process, vendor lama dah tak buat maintainance and vendor baru tak terkejar nak service all the outdoor terminals tu..

problem 1 - offline
ade 2 types
i) if it appears as host offline
--> means that the connection from 'host' (petronas ler tuh) and the respective station ade problem
ii) pos offline
--> one of the internal system dlm station tuh ade problem

*just imagine lah all the equipments tu 24hrs gune kan...so breakdown tuh normal lah...even kite human pun buleh breakdown jugak :P

problem cc at counter - if u go inside to swipe yr card kan, mmg lah u have to leave the card sbb first time swipe tu usually amount yg u estimate nk isi, nanti after u habis isi, kene swipe blk utk dptkan final amount fuel yg terminal pam u tuh htr kat system inside and nooo bukan double charge ye and u have to sign the receipt mcm gi shopping2 gune cc tu unless u use the outside terminal mmg lah tkyah sign :)

problem pen - customer pun selalu 'ter'amik pen tau

problem cashier - itu lack of training la...

problem maintenance - most of the equipts maint thru vendor, so have to wait la if ade rosak sana sini..mane buleh betulkan sendiri, unless toilet rosak ke buleh la...anything, depends on wht equipts yg rosak... jgn sukesuke ingat owner's fault ye :P seme ade SOP

ni nk celah tolong jawab pasal e-pay (if that's the case)
each reload ie maxis10, 30, 50 akan di'reload secara berasingan so bile 10 tkde tp 30 ade tu bukan lah pelik...tapi benar means that allocation for that 10 dh abes n yg tinggal 30 :)

barcode tk leh scan n tkleh jual brg...maybe cashier tuh is just a cashier, he/she tkleh access system utk add new barang, so bile dh tkleh nk scan means the brg tuh tkde dlm system, so staff lah silap letak brg yg belum key in dlm system

so fatin, hope it helps :)but the best way to complain is to call the mesralink line

Nana: yeahh, org station has spoken. hehe. thanks for the answers nana, I am still a dissatisfied cust. xpe, i just resort to other stations ;) hehehe
